One of my favorite looks that she does looks like old style pin up. Its so awesome. I did a slightly modern and also toned down version of this look. Here are some

This isn’t identical to the way she looks on the show, I know. but I was rushing, so I just did a kind of vague interpretation. I would like to do it properly one of these days and post something that looks a lot closer to what she wears on the she because its absolutely GORGEOUS.

My Every Day Foundation/Makeup Routine (BEDA 04)

5 Apr

So, I totally fell asleep as soon as I got home last night after school so I’m sorry I didn’t post yesterday. I’m going to post this now, and post another tonight to make up for it. I’m posting this from my phone so I’m sorry for any spelling mistakes. I’ll fix them when I get home. So lets get going. For this post, I didn’t photograph the products I used, I only photographed a step by step of my face. But I will put the names of the products as I go.

Bear in mind that this is going to be a very natural look. First thing to do is wash your face. I use a Vichy cleanser every morning. Then I moisturize with the Seaweed mattifying day cream from the body shop.

After that, I always apply a foundation base. I just started using the Garnier Nutrisse BB Cream and I love it, so that’s what I’m wearing here. It gives a nice sheer glowy coverage…. But its a little too sheer for me.

So I apply some liquid concealer. The one I use is L’oreal True Match concealer in neutral light. I put it on the areas shown here to lighten those spots on my face. I purposely buy one that is lighter than my natural skin tone to brighten up my face and help me to look more awake.

I like to blend the concealer out with a pinched blush brush.

I then set the concealer under my eyes with the bare minerals multitasking concealer in summer bisque.

Then I use a foundation of some kind…. It doesn’t really matter which one. Just something to add a bit more coverage. Today I used a powder mineral foundation. I blend it with a flat top kabuki brush all over my face and down past my jaw line onto the neck.

Then I add blush. Today I used Mac’s sheer tone blush in pink swoon.

Then I add some bronzer to contour and add some colour. I used NYC Sunny. I use it to contour my temples, then blend down onto the hollows of my cheeks. Then I shade under my jawbone and down onto my neck, and blend. All using an angled face contouring brush. My favourite face countouring brush is the one from NYX.

Then I set everything with a translucent powder. I used one from Marcelle. I can’t remember the name, but I have a photograph of it in my March favorites post. Then I highlighted the high points of my face and the inner corners if my eyes as well as my eye lids with the stila prime color in kitten.

Finished face. I added a white shadow on my lid and brow bone, and a mid tone grey to the crease. Then just put some eyeliner on my tight line, and mascara. Usually I skip the shadow, but today I felt like doing a bit extra. Also I used the Maybelline baby lips lip balm in Quenched.

Tropical Tangerine Eyes (Using mostly BH Cosmetics)

7 Feb

So… I felt like doing something orange. This is what I came up with. Hope you like it! 🙂

Sorry again about my crazy ass brows….. I’m supposed to have them waxed soon lol. They’re starting to look like  my boyfriend’s….. lol

I’m not going to show the palettes I used on the eyes this time because it just takes way too much time to upload photos with my internet…. So I’m just going to go through all the products I used and how I applied them in hopes that you’ll understand. I’m sure you will because you’re all brains and beauty. Go you. You are awesome. Seriously.

For the face:

Rimmel Fix And Perfect Pro Primer (fingertips)

Revlon Colourstay Foundation in 180 Sand beige (stippling brush)

Benefit Stay Don’t Stray (as a concealer, applied with fingertips)

Bare Minerals multitasking Concealer in Summer Bisque (to top concealer, applied with soft, dense brush)

NYX Grinding Blush in English Rose (on the apples of the cheek, and blended back towards the hairline)

NYC Smoothskin bronzing powder in Sunny (applied to temples, hollows of the cheeks, under jaw and on the nose to contour)

Marcelle loose face powder in Translucent (to set foundation. I do this lastly to help blend my blush and bronzer, but typically face powder is applied right after foundation and concealer. I have always done my face first, and completely finished it before moving on to eyes. If I’m working with loose pigments or glitter, I generally do things differently. But we will discuss that when the time comes)

Urban Decay Primer Potion

NYX Jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Yogurt (all over the lid then blended upwards toward the crease.)

NYX eyeshadow base in white (the one that comes in the jar! I used this in the crease and blended up toward the brow. You can use any cream base for this, or the NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in milk would work. Just remember to keep it matte. You could also skip these bases if you want…. Your colours will be a little less vibrant, but still a cool pop of colour no less 🙂 )

For the lid shadows:

I used a shimmery orange colour from the BH Cosmetics 120 colour 1st edition palette and swept it across the lid.

On the inner corner I pressed in a shimmery pink colour.  It was a mid-tone warm pink. (BH Cosmetics 120 colour 1st edition palette)

Then I used a fluffy brush with a warm mid-tone purple (BH Cosmetics 120 colour 1st edition palette) and swept that lightly into the crease on the very outside.

I used a matte white shadow from Annabelle, and a matte beige shadow from Annabelle and mixed them together to used over the white eyeshadow base as a highlight. I also used it to blend the other colours downward as a sort of  “eraser”.

As upper lash line liner, I used Annabelle Smudge pot in Tar. (the black one) I used a small straight liner brush for this. Similar to the ones that come in a liquid liner, but its just an actual brush that I got from a BH cosmetics brush kit.

For mascara I used Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black.

Lower liner I used Maybelline Master Drama (black one that I can’t remember the name of…. Midnight something maybe…. lol)

I used a pencil brush and picked up some of the purple shade I used in the crease then applied it just below my lower lashes.

I started with a lip balm. Any one will do, but if you’re wondering, the one I used was a softlips one… the one that isn’t tinted, just the balm.

Over that I used one of my new lipsticks from NYX. The Lip Smacking Fun colour called Femme.

I then topped it with my new Mega Shine Gloss from NYX called Juicy red. I put a bit in the centre then Dabbed the rest over my lips with my finger.

Hope you guys enjoyed this look! 🙂 Let me know if you have any requests! 🙂 Thanks team!

Purple Smokey Eyes

27 Dec

Here is a look I created yesterday using the BH Cosmetics 88 cool shimmer palette. I will post the product listing and additional photos of the palette later tonight. Sorry the photos are kinda crappy… I took them on my phone and I was in the car *not driving!!* but the phone cam isn’t the most wonderful quality on the front facing camera…. anyways…. I’m at work being a slacker and felt like posting something. Lol so enjoy these pictures of my face…. I guess hah.

As always, I used a moisturizer and primer. That day I used Jack Black Double Duty Face Moisturizer, which is a men’s face moisturizer that you can find at Sephora. It is SO GOOD. I bought some, then gave it to my man, and I’m kinda regretting it now…….. ANYWAYS, this day I didn’t use a face primer but if I had, I would have used my Palladio herbal face primer. It’s the bomb. Diggity.

Foundation: Revlon ColorStay Foundation in 180 Sand Beige for oily/combination skin.

Blush: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in “Natural Beauty”

Bronzer: (My fave for the CHEAPNESS) NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in “Sunny”

Concealer: I like using Benefit’s Stay, Don’t Stray for an under-eye brightener/concealer, which is what I used here, as a base for my favourite concealer, BareMinerals concealer in “Summer Bisque”. An alternative for Stay, Don’t Stray that I also really like is the NYX Concealer in a Jar which you can find at (not being paid to tell you that. Just a serious fan of NYX products. I LOVE NYX!!)

Powder: Marcelle Translucent Face Powder.

This look was fairly simple to create because I used mainly one palette from BH Cosmetics to create it. Majority of the look was created using the BH Cosmetics 88 colour cool shimmer palette. The only exception to the rule was that I used a Matte black colour from the BH Cosmetics 88 colour neutral palette.  Here are some pictures of the palettes so you can see the colours I used. (BTW I spell “colour with a “U” because I’m Canadian. It’s just something you’ll have to get used to on account of the fact that we Canadians like to add letters to words that don’t really need to be there. Case and point: Donut = American. Doughnut = Canadian. For real. Those letters really don’t need to be there, bro.)

Lips: For the photos, I was basically just wearing a basic lip balm I think…. and it had pretty much worn off by this point. But later in the day, I tried a simple bright pink lip gloss that looked pretty stellar. I used the Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in “Pin Up”. At first it looked pretty intense and kinda bright, but I liked it. Also, when it wears off, it leaves your lips a beautiful flush pink colour that kinda rocks in its own way.

This is the 88 Cool Shimmer Palette that I used to create this look. This palette retails for $20.95, however sales happen frequently. So its a really good idea to sign up for email alerts. For instance, at this time, most of the palettes are on sale for half price.

These are the colours I used to create the look.

The first (lightest colour) I used was the one at the far right of the image (outlined in red). I used this colour on the inner half of the eye and around the tear duct area.

The second colour (Mid tone colour) I used on the outer half of the eye and blended with the lightest colour. I also pulled it up slightly into the crease area.

The third colour (darkest colour) I worked through the outer corner and into the crease to create depth and blended with the other purples.

I used the matte black here in the 88 Neutral palette to create a bit more depth in the outer crease area.

The completed look after mascara and eyeliner. Please ignore how desperately my brows need to be tweezed lol. This was my boxing day shopping face. 😛 hehe

Pin Up Girl Look, Slightly Modernized

19 Dec

This is a look I used this year for Halloween. It looked better on Halloween, this was just a trial run, but regardless I think it turned out ok lol

Products used:

Foundation: Rimmel Lasting Finish in “True Ivory”.

Concealer: BareMinerals Multi tasking concealer in “Summer Bisque”

Blush: Nyx Grinding Blush in “English Rose”

Bronzer: NYC Smoothskin Bronzer in “Sunny” (don’t go overboard! Back in the 40’s and 50’s the goal was porcelain skin so try not to bronze yourself out too terribly much!)

Powder: Marcelle Hypo-allergenic Face powder in “Translucent”

Must use a base of some kind to achieve this look… I can’t remember what I used but it was probably Stay, Don’t Stray from Benefit or something like that….

Shadows: Sally Girl trio #388469 (matte trio with a medium grey, deep cool brown and light nude colours)

I used a matte white in the centre of the lid near the lash line. It was from one of my BH Cosmetics palettes.

Crease colour: deepest colour from the Sally Girl trio, and a Maybelline Stylish smokes shadow in “Nutmeg” (warm chocolate brown)

Upper Lashline Liner: Maybelline Line Stiletto

Lower Lashline Liner: Annabelle Smoothliner in “Black”

Mascara: Annabelle Le Big Show mascara. My tube doesn’t have the colour written on it, but I would have bought the darkest black colour available. It would have been a “Black” or “Blackest Black” kind of colour.

Lips: For my actual Halloween look, I started with a light balm. Then a Beautique lip liner pencil in “Real Red” [from Sally’s Beauty Supply], then I used a deep red/wine colour on my entire lip. I used a Rimmel Super Lustrous Lipstick in “Raspberry Bite”. Then I took a bright red lipstick and applied it to the centre of my lips, Rimmel Lasting finish lipstick in “Alarm”. The last thing I did was use a bright red Lip gloss over all of it. For that I used NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in “Perfect Red”. With all these products, remember to blot your lips when you’re finished to avoid flaking/feathering. Its also a good idea to go along the outside of your lips with a cream concealer to create a crisp line and keep your lip colour where it belongs.

FOR THIS PICTURE: I believe I used The Nyx Mega Shine Lip gloss in “Perfect Red” with a pop of the NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in “Dolly Pink” in the centre. Then just blotted the excess.

I’ve since purchased a NYX Matte lipstick in “Pure Red”. This would be a great colour as well.
